Yes. JapanRita is fully responsive and works on smartphones, tablets, and desktops. There is no separate app to install — just open it in your browser.
Yes. Several core features are free for all registered users, including emergency phrases, address formatting, visa tracker, and document translation. Premium features require a paid plan.

JapanRita offers three plans: Base (¥1,500/month) for essential daily-life tools, Pro (¥3,500/month) adding advanced features like medical forms and housing contracts, and Business (¥9,800/month) with invoicing, client management, and tax tools for freelancers.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB) through Stripe. All payments are processed securely.
Yes. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. There are no cancellation fees.
Since subscriptions are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time, refunds are generally not provided. If you experience a technical issue preventing you from using the service, please contact support and we will review your case.

Features are grouped by plan tier. When you subscribe to a plan, all features included in that tier are automatically unlocked. You can also purchase individual premium features on top of your current plan.
The visa tracker lets you store your visa type, expiry date, and renewal deadlines. It provides reminders so you never miss an important immigration deadline. It is available free to all registered users.
The address formatter converts Japanese addresses between kanji, romaji, and formatted postal formats. It helps you fill out forms correctly and ensures your address is properly written for mail, deliveries, and official documents.
Emergency phrases give you pre-translated, ready-to-use Japanese sentences for urgent situations — police, fire department, hospitals, and more. You can show them on your phone screen or read them aloud when you need help fast.

The Business plan includes a full invoicing system compliant with Japan's Qualified Invoice System (インボイス制度), client management, consumption tax calculator, tax year tracking, and business settings for freelancers operating in Japan.
The tax help feature lets you upload Japanese tax letters and official documents. JapanRita explains what the document says, what action is required, and relevant deadlines — helping you understand tax obligations without needing a translator.
The Qualified Invoice System is Japan's consumption tax invoicing requirement introduced in October 2023. JapanRita's invoicing tool generates compliant invoices with all required fields including your registration number, tax rates, and tax amounts.
Yes. When creating invoices, you can enable withholding tax calculation. JapanRita automatically applies the correct rate (10.21%) and displays it on the invoice, which is required for many freelance payments in Japan.
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Documents you upload are stored securely and are only accessible to your account. We do not share your personal information with third parties. You can delete your data at any time from your settings.
